Economy
We need an economic vision of opportunity that enables Australians to pursue their goals and build their own success.
Economy
Senator Kovacic believes in an economic policy agenda founded in opportunity. It’s the vision of opportunity that enables Australians to pursue their own goals and build their own success.
It means empowering individuals by shifting power away from governments and institutions and placing it directly in the hands of the individual.
To achieve this, there needs to be a policy agenda centred on people, not entrenched interest:.
- This involves reducing the footprint of the government and the current excessive legislation agenda by Labor
- Refocusing its efforts on addressing the root causes of disadvantage and inequity by advocating for a tax system that encourages entrepreneurship and rewards risk.
- Ensuring job security and ensure those who put in the effort and have experience are awarded for doing so.
- Ensure that we are not overwhelmed by unchecked institutional power and be on top of rise of big tech, AI and social media.
Another important economic lever is women's participation in the workforce, an imperative part of the Australian economy. The untapped potential of women in the workforce is a resource that, when harnessed, can drive our nation's prosperity.
We must address:
- Systemic barriers, from the exorbitant costs of child care and the lack of parental leave support to the gender pay gap and underrepresentation in leadership roles.
- Protect women from overbearing disingenous union agenda that may reduce their flexible options within the workplace, namely small businesses.
- Explore new policy solutions like tax deductibility of childcare costs, particularly for small and family business owners because good social policy can also be good economic policy.
